hi tapers
im going to stealth bonnie raiitt tonite in charleston. im using Church Audio Stealth mics (clipped to my CofC baseball hat) directly into the Nomad Jb3. Ive tested the gear and noticed the JB3 has a DB Gain option. The range goes from +0 to +48. Any thoughts on this??? Obviously this will be a trial and error, and the tapes could com out garbage; i just wanted to see if anybody here had advice on the subject...
thanks in advance...
Cd the Noob ::)

Any chance you can give more specifics on the color of your hat or, preferrably, your seat location.
Thanks
Charleston Security
P.S. Take a quick look at your levels on your JB3 when the music starts. If they are low, + 4 or 5 dbs. If its high, -4 or 5 dbs. You won't know until it the music starts. You gotta start somewhere and dial it in.

The mic in on the JB3 has been deemed "unusable" by most who have tried...and I've never heard anything about it powering mics...?

The options are mic-in or mic-in Mono.
Just recorded something Mic-In & it sounded like shit. Lots of hiss & low levels.
Earlier I was just looking at the levels moving. I never actually recorded anything.
It wants to power the mics. But it's not quite enough.

Bummer I thought I tried this when I had a JB3 but its been so long I was not 100% sure thanks for checking it out.. I would hate to see this guy lose a recording.. I hope he can get a battery box in time.
