Title: pmd 660 battery pack ?
Post by: shukenja on May 01, 2007, 08:23:51 AM
Hello All,

I just got my pmd and was interested in custom battery packs for it, as it would make it running longer than on typical rechargables as i guess...

Unfortunately, im doing searches on google, and, obviously, in the forums, but i cannot get any define results...

does it mean that pmd doesnt really need any third-party packs as it runs as long as on typical batteries ?

I would be grateful for any help / advice.

regards,
sh.

You'd probably be better off getting nimh rechargeables and and a good charger like the Lacrosse.  I haven't heard of any custom battery packs, probably because 4 rechargeables will give you over 5 hours I believe.  Just make sure to set your meters to 'Peak Only' to save battery life.  Buy a a dozen rechargeables and  you're good to go.

I have a PMD660 and was using regular charger and couldn't keep the unit powered even on three sets of good rechargeables. So I invested the money and bought a LaCrosse charger and was pleasantly surprised by the performance of my batteries. Make sure that you buy rechargeable batteries with the highest mAh rating. I run Duracels. This is the LaCrosse model that you want and I think this place has them for the cheapest on the net.

I bought one of these for a combo battery for my 660 & R4. I would think this will run the 660 for days. Kind of pricey but I had the money at the time.
