Title: Tascam HD-P2 analog outputs - passthrough?
Post by: Brian Skalinder on May 02, 2007, 01:56:18 PM
Searched around TS and checked the manual, but didn't find any info one way or the other.  Does anyone know if the HD-P2 analog outputs (RCA line out) are analog passthrough (analog input > analog output), or do they go through a ADC / DAC stage (analog input > ADC > DAC > analog output)?

bump for a good question, I've wondered this myself.

The DA-P1 did, as far as I recall. Not that it helps you much.

Confirmed by Teac / Tascam customer service:

The analog input signal does pass through the AD/DA circuits prior to appearing at the analog outputs.

I wonder how hard a pass-thru mod would be???
