Hi,
I have an IRiver rockboxed (i think version 1.66 with a firmware from march7) and while i was recording a show yesterday something weird happened :
At the end of the show, I raised the hold button in order to stop the recording, and there the message “warning 000002” appeared :o.
Result: Impossible to stop the recorder, and I had to wait all the night that the battery "died" itself. The worst is there's still the file on my disc but it is damaged >:( :-\.
My questions would be :
- What does this error mean?
- How to make not to have this type of problem one more time?
bonus ;D: How to make to recover the file .wav damaged on my disc?
I thank you in advance
Bye

Get Mmmm´s latest rockbox-REP build. He did some fixes concerning the "00002 warning" message which is caused by buffer overflows....when recording at optical line-in.
his latest REP for H1xx is here: build from May 1st, 2007

Does anyone have any idea IF I can get my damaged file back??
It's 760Mb on my hd, I guess there's something to do ???

Semayat, check your email, I just emailed you a little program that should help you recover the file.

Maybe you should check in at that thread or at rockbox.org as Petur and Mmmm are both interested in sorting this.
All info may be relevant to those guys..... ie when I got those errors (h320; ....001 & ...002 both different types of buffer overflows), I was able to stop and save normally. Chuck (h120, same errors as me) also seemed to be able to save....
The responsiveness of these guys (working for free) is great.

Please do test Mmmm's latest build of the REP and report back how it goes. I will be testing the latest REP build on Wednesday night. I have gotten the error messages, my last two times out with the old REP build.
Were you recording line in? Optical in? What sample/ bit rate?

As far as we know this is related to the drawing routines of the REP eating too many resources. Mmmm (maintainer of the REP) fixed this and has a version up for testing. If you don't trust this, standard RockBox runs just fine - which is why I didn't know of this issue (not a REP user).
Due to serious lack of time I don't get around putting the most popular parts of the REP in standard RB, anybody know a shop that sells extension hours for a day, I could use an extra 6-12 (per day) :(

Hi,
Yep, give tks to the men for putting a nice firmware, for sure ;)
I was recording via line in, 16bits, 44.1Khz, PCM .wav
....The fact is, it has recorded the show on my HD, but the files is damaged...I'll try what Daze (TKS A LOT) sent me, and i'll report here later.

I've already recorded 2hours+ long shows, and saturday after 1h, it has stopped with this warning...

I'm waiting for someone to invent the time machine, so I can get back some of my lost time. I have faith in Mmmm's REP, so I'll be testing it on two iRivers in a couple of days.

Hmmmm.... When you had your original problem the warning: 0000001, were you using the REP or the supported build of Rockbox.
The extra stuff at the bottom are a histogram, and a balance meter.
