Thanks Kevin, However I wanted to avoid a heavy lead acid battery...
Looking for a lightweight, lithium solution since I have 2 dvd 9 v lithiums...
My biggest problem is that this sale does NOT include a power cable only a wallwart....
I am unable to make cables or hack a power cord into a cable....

I have a 6 volt 7 amp hr SLA with a 4 pin xlr, just nuttin to connect that to a mini me....
Peace
Larry

Larry, I sent you a link yesterday to a thread where people talked about using their 9v li-ion batteries w/the MiniMe.

I have the mini-mp and it is pretty forgiving as to what kind of power source you put in to it. I personally use a 3.3 amp 7.2 volt RC car battery.

Just make sure the polarity on your cable is correct... or else it will be making a trip to the apogee workbench. I made that mistake and blew a fuse on it.

Email deadheaded, he made me a cable for my wallyworld 9v lion to the minime, quality workmanship. From what others have told me a 9v will power it for a looooooong time ...

we'd been using the 12V SLA until last night.

it is a lithium-ion from batteryspace.com, totally waterproof, has a switch and weighs 2lbs instead of 5lbs

http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3323  (lasts 6hrs with the mini-me and hdp2)

soddered an XLR 4pin and it works like a charm!!!  even has a low battery indicator

EDIT: before i get berated for using 12V on a mini-me, it is also powering the m248 and the hd-p2.

Hrmmm, I might have to be switching from my good ole home made SLAs to this, but my only worry would be what about flying.  aren't they a little more paranoid about Lith-ion now?

i've flown since 9/11 and if you can get SLA's thru, the lithium-ions should be a breaze.  i'll let you know next week when we go to red rocks....

I also have flown many times with SLA's since 9/11 and only had troubles once at SFO (San Fran) a month after 9/11.  They didn't confiscate anything, they just made me hook up everything in a security room to show that it worked and wasn't dangerous.  You may want to plan an extra hour for security just in case.

It is funny because in the Denver airport there is a display that shows what you cannot bring on the airplane and a standard 12 Volt 7.2Ahr SLA is in this display.  FWIW - This display is right before you walk across the bridge to the Concourse A security entrance (the "hidden security" entrance).
