Title: Alesis Alesis MULTIMIX 8 USB good for beginners 4 mic mixing?

I was thinking about recording with 4 mics and figured the cheapest/easiest way would be to use a mixer that has USB output, so that I can run the signals into my laptop. I was planning on using one of those only when I have the luxury of being able to set up at a table using a house power supply. do you think it is a good starter mixer? anyone ever use one of these?
