Forgive me for not using the search function (no time) and forgive me, my dear moderators, for probably not posting this in the proper section.
Okay, all apologies aside, can someone tell me how much music (timewise) I can get on my R-09 with a 4g card, assuming I'm rolling at 24bit?
Thank you for your help . . . last minute preparations for a very busy weekend. :P

Have a great weekend!
Clint & Brian ~ THANK YOU !!
Response: Yikes !!
Next Question: Is there some small storage device I can download my full SD cards on while I'm in the field?
Something small that runs on its own power?

there is - it is made for photographers and typically takes CF media. they have 20g and 40g models.
i cant remember who its made by but camera stores will have it - they run a few hundred bucks, i'd say you're better off just investing in another card or two

Thanks, Ian . . . that's definitely more than I'm willing to spend. I'll pick up a couple more cards this afternoon.
The bummer is I have two 4g cards on order . . they were supposed to have arrived by now.
I hate to go buy more, but it doesn't look like I've got any other way to go.
I've got nine hours of music waiting for me tomorrow !! ;D
Thanks for the help, guys.

A very cute role reversal of the typical situation here where a guy finds a female who shares the passion and supports the taping activities. Does he run the rig?

so..... How'd it go with the new toy?
I really, really like it.
The LED screen is a little difficult for these old eyes, but I'm sure it will become easier once I get used to it.
I recorded close to eight hours each day on Saturday and Sunday . . . got home and transferred it all before I went to bed (at a decent hour).
Try that with a DAT. Sorry I resisted for as long as I did.

Next Question: Is there some small storage device I can download my full SD cards on while I'm in the field?
Something small that runs on its own power?
I got the 60gb version of this external HD that was quite inexpensive after a rebate at Frys. http://snipurl.com/1lm9u I use it for both recordings and photos. I like being able to backup recordings right after making them.
Another very cool thing was that the 4XAA external battery sled for this thing fits perfectly, with correct polarity, into my iRiver H120, so it can provide backup power for either unit.
