Title: audacity crashes frequently while recording in os x 10.3.9

any ideas? not running any other apps, not online, 16/44. using usb out of a minime.

i have the EXACT problem...fould spark xl a bit better to work with

I am using the Audacity on the Wintel platform and find it does crash when I use the current beta.  The current "stablr" release works just fine, however.  You may want to go back to the 1.2 version.

I have had so many stability problems with Audacity.  It's great for a free program, but after the 1000th crash while RIGHT in the middle of a transfer has convinced me to give up on it.  It's just not reliable enough for me.

FWIW, Samplitude SE is way more powerful & full-featured, sounds better, and costs a measly $50 (//http://).  Only runs on Windows, though.

thanks folks. on the plus side, i'm not alone.

it's kind of funny, but for all the yammering about apple and sound work, i end up using the pc more often for taper related files.
