I have 4x 2000mah and 4x 2100mah RatShack batteries.  They suck, but I got them cheap.  They last max. 2 hours w/ PP.  My Walmart battery lasts a good 4 hours plus.  Basically, I use the AAs as a backup in case the Wally dies or gets disconnected...

I'm looking into a love-you-long-time battery system involving 12v 7700mah nicads...

When I owned the P2, I got about 5 hours and 10 minutes on a set of Energizer 2500mah AA's, phantom power and backlight on, recording at 24/48.

:o That's what I was looking for. Thanks +T! I guess I'll have to do my own testing but I have a set of those Energizers and some 2500mah Powerex's so I think I should be good. I cant wait untill my P2 gets here!
