Hi guys, I've been doing a fair amount of research into starting to tape concerts. I was originally looking at using my old Sony MZ-N510 MD player, but have subsequently found out that it's not particularly suitable for the job, especially for getting concerts onto the PC. I've been looking to upgrade to a decent mp3 player for a while now. I was wondering whether there was a fairly high capacity mp3 player that could also be used for taping? Not got huge amounts to spend, so any recomendations of 2nd hand/discount places would be appreciated, I also live in the UK, so UK based suppliers would be good.
Thanks very much guys, I hope you can help!

The best IMO is the IRIVER H120 :) Not exactly cheap at about $140 to $180 used but very good. And probably one of the best portable recorders out there for its price.

Hey, thanks for the help C-A, I've been Googling and e-Baying for the past few days, and have managed to find an iRiver H140 for £50, plus postage from Germany, which I thought was a complete result!
I'm fairly good at electronics, and soldering, so am making myself a battery box, all I need now is Mics! Would you recommend Omni or Uni-directional mics for a beginner?

best cards in low price range are chris church´ STC-11, won´t distort at loud shows and have a fat lowend...bass frequencies ;).

Cheers Arni!
I've been looking around the site for a couple of days now, and Chris' mic's keep popping up in discussions! How much would I be looking to spend on a set? And I believe that Chris is in the USA, so how much extra would the Government screwing me over here in the sunny UK on import duty? ::)

I am UK based and bought the CA Cards and a preamp and didn't get hit with any customs charges. Not sure whether it was down to the value or because it is shipped from Canada (Chris (CA) is based in Canada not the USA).
I would definately reccomend his products and his support is excellent. I am actually just waiting for payday to order a set of his new omni caps for my mics.
Welcome. Always good to see more UK tapers.
Dave.
