Title: Anyone making dead rats? Need some for AKG CK69s.
Post by: china_rider on June 01, 2007, 11:18:41 PM
Hey all,  Been away for a little while due to a surgery, but am back and healing and about to start taping again.  While gone I decided to sell my used CK69s to someone doing the festival circuit this summer since I would not be using them for several months.  After they were sold I went ahead and ordered a new pair from Boxy.  They just arrived and I hope to get to use them at the end of the month.

Since guns are so sensitive to wind I was thinking dead rats would be a good addition to the setup.  However, I can't even reattach a button much less make a pair of dead rats.  Anyone with some sewing knowledge care to make and sell me few pairs?  I would want one pair for the long configuration and one pair for the short.  Also possibly another pair for the normal 48X setup.

Stay Kind,
Dana

PM Darkstarjedi.  He made mine, for an extremely reasonable price.

Thanks all... Got in contact.  Need to get some measurements and some pictures.  I don't sew so I don't know if this makes it much more difficult but the guns have a pretty narrow windscreen at the tip and then it is about twice the circumference at the end.

The dead rats will be as wide as the widest part of your windscreen -- they'll slip right over without problem.
I think DarkStarJedi just needs the length and circumference (at the widest part).
Mine are great -- I ordered a second pair.

I'm trying to figure out how many pairs I want to get.  Need one for the short gun config, long gun config, and them maybe my TLs or normal 480 caps.

One taper I saw had grey and beige ones.  They remind me of my gerbils.  Sadly the grey one passed away, but the golden one is still scurrying around.
