Title: Oktava MK-012 Pricing question
Post by: BobW on June 12, 2007, 07:19:26 PM
I have a pair of MK-012s in the YS

They were bought 2-3 years ago, are not used except in the shop, and seem to be genuine Russian, bought from a legitimate dealer.
One has red dot on cap, other has blue, both are Cardioids
I have the original boxes, clips, and -10db pad
They were bought at the same place and time, but not matched.

What should I price these at?

as per ebay, matched pairs usually sell for about $450-$500 *new.  single mics sell for $150-$200 most commonly $175.  Used I think a decent quality pair with all the accessories (clips, -10db pad, box...) average about $250.00

Good luck with the sale.

When did Oktavas get so expensive?

I bought a barely used pair 2 years ago for $220.00.  they haven't gone up that much...

I bought mine almost 2 years ago "new" AFAIK with omni, card, hyper, 10db pad, and clip for $300/pr (in seperate small plastic box)
not matched, and definately on a shelf for awhile.  i think they sound great split omni with the 414's m/s FWIW.

you say only cards so considerably less.  the $450-500 ebay's i would think are the more recent "direct from oktavausa" versions, although i haven't looked...

my set is russian, but i'm not going to get into the whole fake thing, it's the "what your ears like" dealeo

edit i wouldn't sell mine for anything and like them SO WAY ALOT BETTER than the c4's for the same $$
