I know this brand is getting alot of fluff around here and I am digging the recordings with the CK-1. Anyone have any recordings with the ck-7? Is it a single mic like the LSD2 or do you need a pair? (i should probably know this)

Single, multipattern mic. - You would need two for stereo - (unless you were using for mid-side patterns)
Im also looking at them so I can try out some M/S action...but was waiting to see what the new stereo mic was like...

Hi Jason,
While it isn't music tracks, there are recorded audio snippets of various instruments and vocals thatyou might want to go over to www.studioauditions.com and listen to. They have all of the Avant Mics there including the CK-7. The exact location is: http://www.studioauditions.com/jamroomsessions_home.php. Just click on "Microphones" and then select "Avant".
The CK-7 is a great sounding Solid State, Transformer Coupled mic ,(which warms up the sound) with a 35 mm Capsule. It has 3 selectable patterns, (Card, Omni, & Figure eight) plus seperate 80 Hz and -10 dB roll-off pads and ships in a real wood case along with an excellent shock mount and an all Alumnimun Road Case. Five Year Warranty is standard and I personally have two of them and I wouldn't trade them for the world, (but of course, I don't count since I'm the national sales manager ;D
I hope this helps Jason!
Best Regards,
