Hi,
I have had a marantz 671 for over a year, but have encountered the following for the first time...
When I try to drag the .wav file off the recorder via USB or a CF card reader, the copy quits with the dialog box indicating a "macintosh error -36".
I can play the file fine on the recorder, and the computer's file info shows valid information. Any help most appreciated, thanks!!
Sorry if this is a repeat, could not find anything in the search function....

Thanks,
I did find that article, thanks for posting the link. Scanning the volume with disk utility shows no errors. How can I get this file off the CF card to the hard drive? Please help, thanks!!!
:)

Could try a few things...
1) Try opening the file in your editor of choice, then saving to your HD.
2) Try duplicating the file in the Finder (Cmd-D), assuming there's enough room on your CF card.
3) Try doing it via Terminal with mv or cp - doubt this'll work but sometimes the Finder just chokes on random stuff...

Thanks for the pointers, but no luck. Any utility one can recommend that may fix the file, so that I can transfer it?? Please help, thanks!!

how old is your hard drive on you computer. error -36 is an i/o error and may mean your harddrive may be failing. i had this happen to a drive in and older g4. i could open and alter items already on the drive, but if i had to put a transfer a new file to the drive i would not be able to, and got the error -36.
do you have an external or alternate drive you can transfer the file to?
good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

thanks again, but I have already tried copying to 3 different volumes. I think that there may be some corrupt checksum bit in the file somewhere. Is there some type of .wav file evaluation/repair utility trhat may help?
thanks!!
