I have a set of AT Omni mics which have connections for a pair of AT8531 battery modules (each one runs on a AA battery). These plug into my Edirol R9 recorder. I have used this set up before at really loud concerts and I did not have good results, I think its refered to as brickwalling. Anyway, I'm going to tape a live show in a few days and I am not going to bother with bringing the AT8531's since I'm going to be really close to the stacks. Any suggestions on picking up a set of mics real quick which won't overload? If I where to buy just another set of mics should I use line in or mic in?
Thanks - Paul

-Chris Church´s cardioid mics (C $117.45)
- microphonemadness.com => MM-HLSC-1 (250$)
- SP-CMC-4U with low-sens mod (224$)
use line-in + battery box for real loud shows.
i also recorded on my r-09´s mic in with the MM-HLSC-1 and it came out great..was a small club show but extremely loud.
omnis pick up too much bass and chatter but deliver excellent results when acoustics are great and the audience is silent.
