Title: LMA Streaming and Buffer Issues?
Post by: dennisrtyler on June 21, 2007, 06:55:59 PM
does anyone else have buffer issues when streaming from the archive? it's so bad that i often give up on a show during the first track due to the start>stop>buffer>start>stop>buffer>etc... cycle. any ideas? TIA

Yeah I have been having the same issues but it seems to be with specific shows.
For example this one here http://www.archive.org/details/um2007-06-08.AKG483-ACM-PMD671 (http://www.archive.org/details/um2007-06-08.AKG483-ACM-PMD671) I can't seem to get it to work or open half the time but my source here http://www.archive.org/details/um2007-06-08..peluso.16bit (http://www.archive.org/details/um2007-06-08..peluso.16bit) seems to work fine ???

Also I have opened a track to play and it played the wrong track ??? strange

I think it is really traffic driven. I can stream shows during off-peak hours with no problem, but during peak hours it's hit or miss (usually miss).

Up until the most recent update I have been able to stream with no problems at most all times
but I'm sure Shawn is right though.  I'm sure there are more new users discovering the site everyday

Yeah, it's traffic-driven. Some servers are pounded much harder than others and as a result streaming is difficult. It may occasionally be a problem with the server itself rather than (or in addition to) traffic issues.
