Title: 722 2Gb File Length
Post by: gratefulphish on June 24, 2007, 06:21:03 AM
When I was running my R-4 Pro, a 2Gb file went for 1:02, before the next file started.  On the 722, the second 2Gb file starts at around 51 minutes.  Why the difference, especially when the 51 minute files seem a little under 2Gb?

Could you have selected 2G CF (1.8 GB) from the menu? Would make sense.

I also think it does this because it leaves you a LITTLE headroom in the 2GB error thing when trying to process the 2GB WAVS. That little bit of hedroom could be allowing you to edit..... it seems if it wa scrammed to teh fullest with the 2GB limit, the wav couldnt process or something? I dunno actually......

this is my guess as well, i had it set to 2GB CF for a while unaware of the diff, much closer to a 1.75GB cut

You should get ~57:30 on a 2GB split. I had no idea there was a difference when running CF. Mine are always 1.946GB give or take a MB. I would double check, but I sent my unit off to SD this morning for the 2.0 hardware update.

Edit:

@ 24bit/96kHz of course. ;D
