Title: Name that mic?
Post by: GDfan on June 28, 2007, 03:44:37 PM
Hi,
I recently started transferring my analog cassette recordings from The Grateful Dead spring tour 90. I wasn't much of a taper then, just a kid with a deck from a friend and a couple patch cords =D. Anyways I got a patch in Hamilton 90 from a guy who had 3 mics, 2 shotguns and 1 oval looking studio mic. the shotguns he said were sennheisers ( I didn't ask with model) no idea what the 3rd mic was(he said it was for bass and he mixed into both channels).

here is my question , can anyone identify which sennheiser mics was used I uploaded a 3min sample from the jam b/t scarlet and fire. I really enjoy how these mics sound and want to get some for myself =D

thanks for listening =D

if it was an oval looking black mic it was a sennheiser 421. if it was a longer silver mic, it was a sennheiser 441.
