Title: Photorec Question
Post by: Mr. Bull on July 01, 2007, 07:02:52 PM
I just saw Roger Waters in Omaha and I recorded it with My MicroTrack.  The Whole first set is gone with the exception of 10 min of the first set.  The second set is complete

I am trying to use Photorec to recover the file but I don't know how to use it.  I can get as far as telling it what device to search through then I'm lost.

I am using winxp.

1. Its asking for a partition table type???  I said Intel/PC partition   Right???

2. Then I go to file options and click on Audio Files only advanced streaming format ????

3. Then select what???  D empty (Whole Disk) or 1*FAT32(NO NAME)

4. I hit Whole disc then it asks for the file system type where the files were stored and it gives me two options         EXT2 EXT3 or Other

Please Help

In most cases I think you should select fat32 and not whole disk. If the partition was invalid then you might want to go the other route but I doubt that is the case.

In the other thread you mentioned that it recovered only the one file you already have. That isn't a great sign in terms of finding more info with photorec.  But different programs work in different ways/situations. I'd try some of the other tools mentioned in those recovery threads.  There is also a chance that it wasn't recorded or was recorded over.
