Title: Who Fixes UA5?
Post by: DMBprez on July 01, 2007, 08:17:22 PM
I bought a UA5 that gets really fuzzy if you turn the gain up past 3/4.  Anyone real good with these bad boys that wont charge me millions to have you patch it up?

It has a presence mod, not sure if that makes a difference.

Cheers.

I think your best bet with an OADE unit would be to send it back to Doug. That having been said, Chris (Bussman) might be willing to look at it for you.

If it is a Doug Oade modded unit talk to him first, period.  If Doug was the original modder he will not fix or re-mod any unit that someone else has worked on.    If you run into a dead end with Doug then talk to Busman.

before you go shipping it off, try cleaning the pots with contact cleaner and open it up to see if there is a mouse sized ball of dog hair in there. Prob won't help but it can't hurt.
