I need something cheap to be able to attach a pair of mics to an existing pole or stand. Which one would be better:

Or

I have a clone of the SP clamp you linked to. Unless you know the diameter of what you are clamping to is less than an inch, I wouldn't recommend it. I have a heavy-duty light stand and that first clamp's opening will not go around it. Works fine on a friend's Bogen and on electrical conduit but not on my stand. I noticed SP didn't give specs on how large a pipe it wil fit while the Smith-Victor from B&H will fit pipes up to 1.75" diameter.

Best clamp ever... features a rubber pad so you can camp to even glass... bends in every which way possible.

Indeed, -very- flexible clamp. IME, not great for LDs, though...too heavy (but I don't think that's an issue here). And I found the end with the rubber-covered pad, towards which the adjustable screw tightens, bends too easily for my tastes. But be a little careful and it's a super-flexible clamp.

That's what I've got too. I love it!

I went ahead and tried the Windtech from B&H because they take Paypal. What's the etiquette for requesting to clamp onto someone else's stand? Walk up and ask politely and offer to buy them a drink or food? That would be the most likely approach I'd think to take.

BINGO! At least show that you are polite and make sure he knows you are level-headed and arent going to get SHITCANNED and be enar his gear also :) I have been there done that, but have many years of practice :)
Also, a small tip about that windtech clamp I found out by mistake about 3-4 years ago :) Check out this link immediately and get a couple to toss in your bag :)
