Title: powering SP-CMC-4/ CMC-8 with 12V = OK
Post by: kuuan on July 05, 2007, 09:15:30 PM
I remember that I once had found a thread where some members were wondering if the SP-CMCs could be damaged if fed by 12 Volt or if it would be OK.
Then there was no clear answer, but I wanted to know.

Now I had sent this question to Sound Professionals.
my question was:
'I have the SP-CMC8 with adapter and omni and cardioid caps. Please be so kind and tell me with how many Volt they can be powered maximum without danger of harming them, resp. if 12 Volt will be save.'

the answer of Chris Carfagno ( who often posts here, but did not answer 'then' )

Yes, 12v is fine.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Chris Carfagno

Sorry I didn't see that original thread.  The battery box they supplied me uses a small 12v battery, and I've been using that right along.

I also use both my mics SP-CMC-4U and DPA4061 with the "SP-SPSB-9" 12V battery box and it works just fine! ;)
