Hey guys. Is there a primer or info guide on the site for computer recording as in how to do it, software and equipment needed? I never really considered this and have an R-09 coming, but I'd still like to know what's involved. Thanks in advance and for all the help given so far! Russ3523

don't know about the primer but ... my setup is pretty simple - mics-> m-audio mobilepre ->usb in -> ibook g4 -> soundstudio( 2 track recording program) -> open new file -> select which source to record from (the mobilepre) -> press record. turn left and right channel knobs on mobilepre to set correct levels. now this is in the mac world. if your doing winblows i'm sure its like 12 times harder.

Oh great! ::) Yeah, It's a Windows based laptop! But wouldn't the idea be the same? mics>preamp>computer? Basically, the laptop is the recorder? Everything else remains the same? I'm still learning, so bear with me here :o rWc3523

Yep. That's exactly what you'd be doing.

yeah its exactly the same idea - windows just seems to make everything more of a headache for ME than os x does. you might want to check out the minimum system requirements for some of the usb or firewire pre-amps to get an idea of a base system.
good luck. dave
