Hello,
Well after 1.5 years the internal battery on my MT-24/96 is starting to crap out. The internal battery will only last about 80 minutes now on a full charge. I have an external Macally USB battery pack BUT I would llike to install a new battery in the MicroTracker too.
M-Audio support charges $75 to install a new battery. OUT-FUCKING-RAGEOUS!!
Are there any vendors here that will do it for less (hopefully with a "better" replacement battery too).
thanks,
David
i don't know of anyone else who does it but i have seen where you can open it up and do it yourself
i can't seem to find the link now though
i do recall it being somewhat tricky, at least i thought it was, so not to break anything

Does that $75 cover shipping and insurance each way? If so then I say its not too bad of a price...but if they want $75 plus the cost of having to ship it in and back long with insurance I would say that is a rip

You pay shiiping to them, they pay shipping back - no insurance unless you pay for it. Definitely a
"focking rip."
Just use an external battery pack, eg., 4AA NIMH cells.
Consider the internal battery as a built-in UPS, lol.
If you want to sell it, I might be interested, to use as described above.

yup, I would agree for sure....I for the life of me can't understand why they built this thing with an internal battery...too many consumer electronics do this, ipod, zune, etc......I wish more companies worked like archos does with their 504/604 models with a removable battery....
