Title: Naiant miniture mics? Anyone ?
Post by: chris on July 20, 2007, 11:07:52 AM
Hi,

I stumbled on this site last night, I believe they were advertising on one of the torrent pages.  Either way, they build some interesting/affordable mini condensors.  I esp find the tube version very interesting.

Anyone have any use with these? http://www.naiant.com/studiostore.html

John is a member here (owner/builder of naiant mics).  Think his handle is Mshilarious or something like that.  Never ran them but apparently a great bang for the buck mic.  People seem to have been pleased with his products.

i ran across them after reading a post where some guy had done an A-B test of the MSH-1s and some schoeps mk2's.  the clips showed very little difference between the naiants and the schoeps, which greatly surprised me (i have owend a pair of schoeps cmc64s before, and am well aware of their capabilities).  i ordered a pair of the little omnis, and they are indeed an amzing mic for the money.  i paid uder $50 for a matched pair including shipping.  how fun is that?
