Title: AT933 Specs??
Post by: Liquid Drum on August 08, 2007, 01:41:50 PM
Hi,

Can't seem to find these anywhere. I know they don't make them anymore, but is there a page anywhere on the net that has the full specs?? Or maybe someone knows??

Cheers,
Simon.

Same as the AT943, or CMC-8 (I think) at soundpros.

only the omni and microlines capsules are 20-20.

the hypers don't go below 70.   The cards I forget but I think not below 30 or 50.

Thanks, *think* I've found it:

http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?item=SP-CMC-8&type=store&template=specifications

Maximum Input Sound Level   110dB (plug-in power)/125dB(battery box)/145dB(phantom)

I should think 125db should be ok for most rock bands, myabe only extreme metal goes beyond that...

 ;)

Believe me, they overload with standard SPSPSB1 battery box, at a Velvet Revolver gig, half way back on the floor.

With the three-wire mod and battery box, they sound lovely!

By the way, although they don't make them anymore, it's possible to make your own:

Buy the slimline CMC-8s.
Buy the adaptors:

Trade the small 943 card caps for AT853s.

That's how I built mine, anyway...plus this way, they have the groove in the body for the mini rotating clip.

Thanks for the info. Where can I get a decent (not too expensive mind) 3-wire batt-box??

Just curious, why did U trade away the 943 caps for the 853s?

Just curious, why did U trade away the 943 caps for the 853s?

I did some listening to recordings, and some experimentation with the small caps while I had use of them, and decided I wanted the slightly beefier AT853 sound.

The difference isn't much, but my ears prefer it.

I now use the 853s about 75% of the time.

The CMC2s (AT831s) get used where it's a new venue, or I know it's a poor sounding venue, where they usually shine.
