Title: JB3 with a mac?
Post by: Nick Graham on August 22, 2007, 07:41:24 AM
I just picked up a JB3 in the Yard Sale to have an extra deck for SBD patches, etc. It was a total impulse buy, and one I'm worried may be pointless....

According to the FAQ at Nomadness the JB3 flat out won't work on a mac. Is this true? Anyone have any experience interfacing the 2?

I have an old HP Laptop (which is now happily running Ubuntu 7.04, making me completely Microsoft free), if necessary I could re-install XP on it, but I'd really rather not have to.

Help?!?!?

Works fine, but you're limited to USB 1.1 speeds IIRC.

Yep... the XNJB software will work with your mac, its kinda slow transferring and it will only work with usb, no firewire.

And sometime it can be a bit iffy.  Sometimes I plug in, fire up the app and goes as planned.  Other times I have to (trial and error) do things in a certain order for the device to be recognized.

Hell, I encounter that even with a PC.   :P    I can't wait to upgrade recorders someday.
