Title: custom wooden box
Post by: Jhurlbs81 on August 22, 2007, 11:36:14 AM
Hey Guys,
I want to build a slim, light-weight wooden/composite type box for my V3 and AD2K.  Can anyone post pics of boxes they have made or links to anything else that might help me out.  Right now I have them mounted in cage made of the wire shelfing, but they move around too much.

A general question-Do I need to worry about making holes for ventalation?  Right now I have the V3 and ad2k squeezed together and they run pretty warm, especially the v3 running off lithium.  I'd like to mount them together if possible.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Jesse

Terry Watts (twatts) put together a nice box for the UA-5.  You could probably modify it for the V3 measurements.  I now have this wooden box for my UA-5 and love it.  Below is a link to Terry's original thread:

Arent those things standard rack space height-wise? and a half-rack long?

Seems like you could mount them in a single rack unit...that would be side by side -

Although - you would think someone makes 1/2 rack sized boxes...
