Similar to the Avantone/Superlux design, but slightly different and looks well made.
Just thought some folks might be interested, as I had never seen these before.

Same price as a used set of caps. Who do they think they are Schoeps ::) ;)
-
Sale Price: $296.99 Is that EACH? If so, thats about 2x the cost of a used pair of caps for the bluelines.

I have had this pair now for over 10 years
I don't use my 451s as much as I use to,
but these things are still in GREAT shape

yeah these mounts are by no means a "new" product from akg... and the elastic bands will "stretch" a bit after while. ran a pair of akg568's in them for over 14 years..

for ALOT less money, I believe the AT 8415+K-Tek K-SUS Heavy Duty Rubber Mounts is the best available for us without spending over 150/pair for shocks :) I have had that combo for well over 4 years now I believe and they show ZERO signs of wear and tear. I think the 8415+K-Tek HD mounts will prolly last me as long as I decide to keep running full-bodied mics. They are a SNUG fit with the 480's(21mm) but would also probably fit 20mm mics(Schoeps) like a golden glove :)
B+H sells the AT 8415+K-Tek HD Mounts as a combo together, so you cant beat that instead of buying things seperately from a diff vendor. Here is a link to the combo at B+H. Like I said, these are def the best bang for your buck if running full-bodied mics IMO FO SURE ;D
