Title: Shock Mounting Church Audio mics (with clamps)

It works fairly good, but i have always been curious of ways to shockmount my setup. I am still a semi noob, and though the idea of a shockmount seems pretty self explanitory, do most of you guys things that it is a fairly important aspect of your recording setup, or just a nice added feature?

Don't get me wrong my little DIY t-bar works fine, i have made some excellent recordings (i mostly just point the mics at the stacks, or as close to 90 degrees as i can eyeball), but i have not been able to make any of the many DIY church audio mic stand setups because my mics have the little alligator clips attached to them. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Or do you think i should just stick with what i have?

Post by: firebaugh on August 27, 2007, 12:28:16 AM: I don't have the Church cards but I made a DIN bar using 1/2 PVC for my HLSC-1s and I'm using a Joe Meeks JM-27 shockmount. Maybe you could notch out the side of the PVC to able to slide the clips into the pipe?

that notch idea sounds like it might work, i just need to find an easy way to cleanly cut PVC. The attached alligator clamps are so great for stealthing, but limit the choices for stand mounts.
