Title: Rockbox update
Post by: petur on August 25, 2007, 05:59:11 PM
A short message for Rockbox users...

Since a while, following features were added:
- recording directory now configurable: select the directory of your choice in the browser and use the context menu to set it as recording dir.
- file name based on recording source: recorded file is named after the source (mic/line-in/spdif)
- clip counter: the number of times clipping occurred during recording is shown if front of the peakmeters. Te counter is only reset to zero on recording (re)start, so it is still readable after pause/stop.

Have fun!
Peter

Nice work Peter.

If it is suggestions you're looking for, how about an option to log AGC activity, so you know exactly when/by how much your recording's been lowered (I'm obviously thinking specifically of safety)?

In my h320 I'm using a black screen with the peakmeter in yellow and it's so easily readable and sooo stealthy. But you're referring to the H120 I guess?

And the orientation? how? from right to left?

Those changes sound good, thanks for the update!

I use the H320 too.  I use black background with green foreground.  I would like to be able to change the color of the peak meter as compared to the text....

thanks!

I just had a go at fixing a recording and disk corruption issue that occurred at disk-full.

So if you run into this issue again with a version after 2007-10-11, do let me know.

Could there be an option to set Rockbox to always rescan freespace on startup.  Many of us that mainly record with this unit don't mind slower startup VS not getting a show taped.....

It only happened to me once, but why did it have to be that show? ::)

Thanks,
Joe

This has been discussed in the past, I'll check if opinions have changed since....

I used my new H140 last night with a very recent build that included the new naming format.  Very cool.  I saw in someone's avatar at TS.com using a h120 with huge peakmeters, taking up like half the screen.  Really cool looking, I am guessing it was a personal .wps or something.  I know nothing about that stuff.  Everything worked great, keep up the good work.
