Title: Griffin iTalk Pro experience
Post by: paulisme on August 27, 2007, 10:59:43 PM
Hello everyone.  I just found out about this site today, and so far it looks like it contains a wealth of information.  I just thought I'd share my experience with the Griffin iTalk Pro, since I was never really able to find much information about it or hear samples of audio recorded with it before I bought it.  I'd wanted to get some kind of recording device for a while like an MD recorder or DAT, but the most I was able to talk my wife into letting me get was the Griffin iTalk Pro.  I finally got to use it for the first time at a Patty Griffin concert in Charleston, SC.  I think it turned out pretty well.  You can hear an MP3 version of one of the songs here:

And you can download the whole show here:

interesting. It does allow WAV recording 16/44ecording you can apparently plug in your own mic or preamp

Yep, though apparently it only records mono when using an external mic.  I wonder if anyone's figured out a way to hack the iTalk to accept stereo microphones.  Seems like it would be a simple matter of splicing external mics into the internal mic connections.
