Curious what the group thinks about this one....never used a MAC before; should i venture into those waters ?
-
All the mac users will say yes, and most of the PC users will say no...
It all depends on you. Go to an Apple Store or a CompUSA and take a look at the macs. Play around with them and make sure you actually enjoy them before you purchase one.

what JKelley said.
I use both and they both have strengths/weakness.
when it comes to multitracking, I prefer the MAC. for simple editing, I prefer Windows
-
i use both...forced to use pc at work...but prefer apple much more
it all depends on what you need out of a computer.
if you need to run a spreadsheet, type your resume, browse online then you can probably be better served with a cheaper pc.
if you need a computer to express your creative side, like audio, or like video and graphics, then mac is where it is at.
macs are specialized machines...while pc's are for the average...thats why so many companies build pc's and only apple makes macs

Don't trust anyone here, we're all biased one way or another ;D
Depending on your budget go to the local stores and play with both.
Want a Mac on a PC budget? Go Linux...

So many things wrong with this statement I don't even know where to start. ;) Linux is fine, but it's no OS X.

Muchas garcias; as i'm delve into video editing, looks like a mac for me 8)

Damn straight. Final Cut Pro is the best video editing app out there, bar none. :)

i wouldn't argue about getting a mac if it's for video
