Post by: darktrain on September 27, 2007, 06:16:00 PM
So i have been searching the forums for this info and haven't found it, is there a "unity" gain for the H120 or H320 like the R-09 which is 8?

I want to know that also.

And anyone knows if the "unity gain" at the R09 is really 8? I read here (http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,88932.0.html) that its only a myth.

on a rockboxed iriver unity gain is at 0dB gain for l+r channel IMHO.
I taped 2 shows with 0db gain with my high-sens 4060s, great result ;).
on my R09 gain was set to 13 when I first started a recording after unwrapping it from the box.
maybe 13 is the unity gain, am sure guysonic or others may contribute here.

I am not 100% sure I understand what unity gain is, but if it means neither attenuation or amplification, I can only point out that rockbox uses dB as notation for audio settings. Now just guess how many dB unity is :p
