Hoping for a quick answer, as I didn't think of this until just a few hours before heading out tonight for typical loud, PA-amplified performance. Any recommendations on how to run M148 > 722? Options are M148 > ...
- 722 Mic-in (Low gain, i.e. 10-55 dB)
- 722 Mic-in (Normal gain, i.e. 25-70 dB)
- 722 Line-in
-
Line in for PA rock, no question.
The big question is where you'll be peaking and whether you will be running the gain at 0 or something less.. I'd generally peak somewhere around -8 (third LED from the end) and try not to hit 4's (2nd LED) but no big deal if you do.

Thanks! Line-in it is, makes sense to me since the M148 has fixed +20dB gain. I imagine I'll need a bit more gain from the 722, so we'll see where I end up on the 722 gain meters.

good info moke...Brian you are gonna love running that combo.

too late, but line in for sure

Line-in wasn't quite enough gain for this amplified acoustic (YMSB) show, but I wanted to play it safe since they've been LOUD in the past. Everything went well with the gear except for my continued battery misfortune. >:( Cruddy recording space, but turned out well enough considering. Thanks eveyrone!

which battery Brian?
My used 722 came with a bad 6000 mAH / 7.4v Power2000 battery. I used two 7600 mAH / 7.2v Impact batteries successfully for a while, but they're both dead or mostly dead, now. After a full charge, one registers 6.8v, the other 7.3v, while Stagger's 7.2v battery registered 8.0v. I think in the case of the Impacts, it's user error - left 'em both charging on the 722 for a loooooong time as I forgot about 'em. Not sure why float-charging would kill the batts, but...wouldn't surprise me. Gonna look into new batts + an external charger.
