Title: Problems with burning dual layers in toast
Post by: firmdragon on October 16, 2007, 01:28:24 PM
I tried burning a dual layer video with toast 8 titanium (+ toast 7) on my macbook last night.  ended up coastering 3 or so all with the same message something along the lines of
Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST, Sense Code = 0x30, 0x05, CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM - INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT
or
Sense Key = HARDWARE ERROR, Sense Code = 0x44, 0xD6, INTERNAL TARGET FAILURE

the thing its it used to work before i had to reformat my comp.  to add to the aggravation, i was able to burn the dvd with a different program (the authouring program - dvd studio pro)

anyone had this problem before?

memorex
sigh, deep down i was kinda thinking that might be the problem.  i was just hoping it may have been a software issue and there would be a quick fix.

Sometimes you can get a firmware update for the DVD burner which makes it work better with various media.

I'm having problems with Memorex DVD+R's (not DL). These were my flac backups burned as data DVD's on my PC that I now cannot get my iMac superdrive to read. I'm really hoping it's an issue with the superdrive compatibility with Memorex's but I have yet to try to read the DVD+R's on a PC.
