Post by: emalvido on October 24, 2007, 01:44:39 PM
Hello:
So, time to transfer DAT masters to PC

Setup:
M1>POC-DA12P cable>Midiman CO3>Audiophile 24/96

Recomened software to edit? kind of easy to use with resampling 48 to 44.1
Adobe audition, Cool edit pro, Soundforge?

Thanks!

i use CEP to do DAT>PC as i have just never upgraded to Audition (must be something about the movie that has kept me away... :P).  i have the 2496 also - love it even though it is a bit old now.

peace,
ts

Audacity's a free option.  Samplitude SE is the best bang for the buck, IMO ($50).  WaveLab, Audition/CEP, SoundForge, etc. will all get the job done, at various price points.

I'd replace the POC-DA12P > CO3 with a plain old 7-pin > coax cable, personally.  But not a huge deal one way or the other.

ditto especially if you've got lots to xfer.  i'm sure they're dirt cheap now.  and stay away from the coresound ones.
