Title: To buy or not to buy???
Post by: twatts (pants are so over-rated...) on October 24, 2007, 05:10:19 PM: Fund a "vintage" pair of Sony ECM-22p (battery and PH power) condensors locally on Craigs List. Circa 1970 mic, card only, with roll-off. $50 for the pair...

Opinions???

But for $50, its almost a "can't go wrong". I think I'm sneaking out there and buying them before my girlfriend gets home from work... If anything, I'll donate them to our local music hall, maybe perma-mount them there for future use...

try one of those with your CA preamp.......works well for me with a small sony m/s mic :)

I did the same thing for a set of AKG D109s on ebay. $29 and I could not find hardly any info on them. An AKG engineer had a test set sitting in a box for 20 years. So so for loud concerts, pretty good for soft, acoustic, or instrament micing. Ended up using them as a stereo pair into my PC where the kick butt.
