Title: Sennheiser 580/650 DIY Headphone Mod
Post by: edtyre on October 26, 2007, 06:11:22 PM
I bought a custom cable from this guy
and while browsing his website i noticed this:

http://apuresound.com/ht.html

I tryed it on a pair of 580's
and guess what? Its great,
well worth the effort and baby simple.

Well folks at Head-fi called it de-veiled. There is a noticeable difference in the sound.
Sounds clearer.Worth the ten minutes to take out the foam.

I haven't got the new cable yet, i bought it for a pair of Senn 650's i just got, but i have a Cardas cable
that i use with the Senn 580's and it has really opened up the sound, bigger soundstage, more precise sound.
Made a believer out of me, i thought these expensive aftermarket cables were hocus pocus, but not true.

But......i'm running them with this set-up  YMMV
Imac > Empirical Audio Offramp Turbo > Grace M902 > Senn 580's (Cardas)
