I'm looking for a clean way to run my AT853 mics from SP in Healy configuration (about a head width apart facing out, 90 degrees from source).
SP has a type of mount that is basically just a piece of flex with a ring on each end. Foam windscreens are stuffed in the rings and the mics inside the foam, so the mics would be facing forward, not outward.
I want to move away from my current homemade setup.

I have not seen a comercially availible mount for the AT853's that is great. The ones from sound pro's are decent.
IMO, the mics facing forward would be fine. While I love the 853's, im not sure they good enough mics to warrant a critically spaced omni pair.

i have the 24" sp one, you can bend it to whatever space you want more or less
so you could bend it up down whatever and then if you wanted loosen the screw and turn the bar in the mount, might sound confusing but really easy

Thanks for the info on the 24" SP one.
I'm leaning toward Healy in order to minimize the size of my footprint in open taping and I love omni's b/c I'm usually taping outdoors. Was hoping for some slick mounts like those used for full size mics. Maybe there's no such animal other than the SP flex t-bar.

I run Church Audio STC-11 mics that are 12 mm in diameter and use the Tensimounts shock mounts. Pretty happy with them.

The Healy method is not a 90degree angle like an XY configuration. The Healy method is omni caps placed 180degrees from each other and 90 degrees from the source. I am not sure there is a mount out there for this or not. The SP mount could be configured to work. But its not ideal. Hope this helps, Have fun and Peace OOK

I just bent my 12" SP bar to Healy. Looks like it'll work, but I'd go with the 24" if I ran the mics with this config.
