Title: editing a soundboard recording

hey everyone,

i don't know if this is fixable or if anyone can help. sorry i'm so clueless when it comes to recording or editing. i taped a show, patched to the soundboard and it came out really good, has tons of potential. but the vocals have a hiss on them when they get louder and there's a few glitches in the recording. to me it doesnt sound like overloading but i dont know. if anyone can steer me in the direction or be willing to help me fix it. or at least tell me if it's fixable. don't know if anyone is a kay hanley/letters to cleo fan. attached is an mp3 sample of the show:

the vocals sounds like it's from her .  not anything to do with the recording.  doubt it's fixable.

The recording has quite a few issues outside of the crackling sound, most of which stem from the mix engineer.  Regardless, the mix engineer isn't mixing for your recorder, they're mixing for the sound of the room.  Here's the best I could do with it in 5 minutes.
