Title: Voltage range for UA-5?
Post by: shaggy on November 05, 2007, 08:17:00 AM
Does anyone know what the tolerances are for DC in for UA-5?  Sounds silly, but I think that the UA-5 is st**lthable,  Trying to build a AA battery pack for it....would like to keep it to NiMH.

Anything is stealthable as long as you can smuggle it into the venue.  ;D  Not silly at all.  I look at what Mike Millard and some of the other 70s tapers were able to stealth and proceed from there.

I have successfully run the UA-5 for 100s of hours on 7.2v nimh battery packs.  it would run ant anything below that.  Probably 6.7v-12v, i never did check the voltage at what is stops but my JB3 would die before the UA5 gave up w/ various 5v VR boxes
