Title: Long run for RCA cables?
Post by: dgale on November 05, 2007, 10:36:20 AM
I want to connect my audio workstation to the main stereo in our house, but it's a couple rooms away...I was thinking of running some RCA cables up into the attic and then drop them down through the wall to the back of the stereo, but am wondering how much sound will suffer with a long RCA run like this - I'd guess it would be something like 50-60'.

I'd think that 50-60 feet of unbalanced cable would be a bit on the long side.  I would look at investing in a squeezebox.  It will connect to a wireless network and stream from a PC.  It's got a great interface and sound too.  Have a look, it's been talked up a lot in this forum.
