Let me give the story of what happened and see if anyone can tell me if I can fix this.
I video taped a wedding today and for the bride and groom's audio I hooked up a Giant Squid omni lavalier to the groom and used a AP preamp and iRiver H120. I set AGC and put the hold switch on so nothing would happen. I forgot that I had put the hold switch on and when I pressed stop it stopped record but acted frozen and I thought it was a problem with the recorder. I reset the recorder and then realized the hold switch was on. So I do have the WAV file on the iRiver but it won't play. So is there any way to salvage this ? It would make a HUGE difference in the final product if so.

Can you manage to transfer the file to your computer? If so, when I've had problems like this in the past with files on my iRiver, I've used Audacity>File>Import>Raw Data and that's done the trick.
If you can't get if off the iRiver then that's a different problem.
Hope that helps.
As an aside I used to regularly get problems like this with my iRiver, but since I updated to a more recent build of Rockbox it hasn't happened once, so it may be worth updating if you haven't for a while.

Repair the WAV header..... The post above is one way. Check the iRiver FAQ: http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,79591.0.html

I Googled it also and found a suggestion to use Golwave to import the file. That seemed to have done the trick. I'm very relieved. Yesterday was my first paid wedding to video. I have a few other glitches during the day in addition to that. At least it all worked out in the end.

sorry about that, I'm still hunting the bug but running out of time. I hope to have it fixed soon ;)

It was my fault that I forgot about the hold switch so I can't blame anyone but myself. At least the file got written to disc. I also freaked at first after I reset it because with the newest build it doesn't record to the "recordings" directly but goes straight to the root directory. In the end it all worked out and I got what I needed. You guys at the Rockbox camp are doing an excellent job and your efforts are appreciated.
