Title: Denecke Users (or former users)
Post by: Belexes on November 15, 2007, 05:26:54 PM
I have a PS-2 and soon to have an AD-20.  Is there a particular case or cases that work well for storage of these? (Pelican???)

I only use my PS2>AD2 for stealth recordings, and it's funny, but I've never thought of keeping them stored in anything but the backpack that I store all my stealth gear in along with my trucker hat that I sewed velcrow into to hold my mics when recording. Everything I carry out on a stealth night is in that backpack. I have a nice Pelican for my AKG's and keep all my open taping gear in a fine 4 shelf Soniccase, but my AT853's I don't store in anything but the boxs they came in.....I should do something about that...

That's one heck of a stealth rig CTDave! I'd hate to crotch all that gear into a show.

I have a Lowe Pro bag on order and may just store the Denecke equipment in there as is, but if there is a nice Pelican out there that works either for both or each of them, I'd pick it up.

All my mic cables are stored in a black Shure zipper bag I got from Sound Professionals.  My R-09 is in a Bodyglove, the M1 in the pleather Sony case, the C4's in the SP flight case, and everything else I have is loose without protection.

I used to crotch MBHO603a > ps2 > ad20 > m1 / MD all the time.
make some great recordings.

I have this combo still...although i've hacked them to both fit in one box.
;-)
I need to use that one of these days.  If only I had a recorder that took an optical signal.

those two units are so rugged, you really needent "baby" them.  You'd have to drop them out of a plane at 30k ' to even put a nic on the aluminum case.

Geez, and I use to hate to crotch my old Sony D3 analog thinking THAT was bulky.  :o

I baby my gear too much probably, except for my old D7 that looked like it had been to hell and back with all the field use.

I've snuck my rig in for years, and a bunch of times this year. Dyaln and Costello, Roger Waters, Experience Hendrix, Zappa Plays Zappa.... I do crotch most of it myself. For the last two shows, I also brought in a Walmart battery and power splitter. I don't trust my JB3 batteries like I used to. I keep the AT853RX's, and these are unmodified 20 footers, coiled up with the splitter, and optical cable in one big ziplock baggie. I have the PS2 and AD20 vecrowed together back to back, with a couple rubber bands wrapped around for support, and a shoulder strap I rigged together. And I crotch that all myself most of the time with the JB3. I'd say 9 out of 10 times, my buddy who's with me, is wearing boxers and can't bring in shit!!!

Boxers!  ;D  Gotta wear 2 pairs of briefs and that'll do the trick.
