Maybe muj will chime in. I have tried the mc49 on a couple of occasions, Dirk (TNJazz) owns a pair. They 49's are fantastic mics! If that is any indication of the rest of the nevaton line then I'm sure the mc48 is as nice or nicer. Myself, I want one of those mc48's, hopefully sooner than later.

yeah--it'a very neutral mic with a very nice imaging, "boring " sounding some might say compared to the california eq curved chinese crap.

Thanks for all your info! It seems to be an exceelent option among the high-quality stereo mics (but still only half the price of the Neumann or AKG models).
I saw them on ebay Austria, apparently a way the russian manufacturer sells them.
