you'll want one of the top one's, but why do you want xlr > rca cable?

ive used those same attenuators, actually have two sitting around i dont use much, but they suited me very well with the stepped attenuation(10,20,30) with my ad-20

You want to use these if the signal you are sending a deck or preamp is too hot. They cut decibels off the signal in 5 db increments.
