Title: Taping with Zoom H4 from Soundboard?
Post by: DeltaBluesMan on November 26, 2007, 01:28:42 AM
How do I hook up my Zoom H4 to a soundboard to record a show? From where on the recorder to where on the soundboard? Also, the band will be playing four 45 min sets with 15 min breaks in between Should I shut the recorder off during the breaks?  When answering keep in mind I know very little about recording. Thanks!

since the Zoom thing has combo input jacks you could use several connections.
The engineer may offer one of many different outputs usually XLRmale, 1/4" or RCA

At a minimum I would have a pair of XLRs (mic cables) and a pair of 1/4" to 1/4". With a few adapters for RCA you should be covered in most situations.

Last time I got a board patch it was mono, which was fine.
