Title: Stupid question-How do I turn off windows sounds as to not interfere

audio playback? I'm using winamp with kernel streaming.

start > control panel > sounds and audio devices > sounds > [drop down to 'no sounds']

Did you ever find a solution for this?  I use kernel streaming w/ Fubar2000 & chaintech soundcard and have the same problem, I believe.  My main culprit was new mail in Outlook & I set that to 'no sound' for the new email notification, but any other sound or notification kills the audio.

This should work for all default sounds, otherwise you need to check the specific program making the sound.
