Had a short in one of my active cables.  Sent it in on the 9th and got it back today, the 18th.  Fast.

My 150s have been there for almost 3 weeks.  It took them about 10 days after the UPS delivery to give me a repair reference number.  The woman on the phone said they were "backed up" after the holidays, despite an email I received that said turnaround on simple repairs would be about 48 hours.
You might want to give them a call and see what kind of turnaround they can promise you.

Found out today that the 150s are coming home to daddy today.   Sennheiser/Neumann charged me less than 200 to bring both back to factory specs and apparently they did a few other little things.
I've missed my boys, its been 3 weeks. :'(

Sending in one of my KA100 lemo connectors as well as one of my active cables for repair.  Was told three weeks.   So much for a quick turnaround.   From the sound of things it seems that they only have one Neumann tech.

KLowe, back to your original problem--what was (or is) the matter with your figure-8 capsule, and has Neumann USA been able to help you with it? I'm just curious because I don't think that their U.S. facilities are equipped to do any response testing on microphones or capsules other than by ear, and Neumann in general stopped repairing capsules years ago--if one of their capsules has a serious defect, they replace it.

KM 100-series "active capsules" all share a common assembly which contains the front end of the amplifier circuit. In the event of a failure in that assembly, it (at least theoretically) could be repaired or replaced separately from "the capsule part of the capsule"--but I'm not sure what their policy is about that these days. (The only repair problem I've ever had with my KM 150s was a bad spring contact in one of the amplifiers, which prevented it from working with extension cables or their almost-right-angle swivel joint.)
